2010 I will be updating this page as the boys go out and about to the various shows. ** Update August 2010 - Skaramoosh wins his first PC on his adult show debut and has a RED CARD DAY!! Mimi and Macavity take to the show bench at 15 weeks old and both have brilliant days for their first show **
West of England and South Wales Cat Society 28th August 2010 Due to ill health recently I thought I would need to stop showing but in stepped my very good friend Jennifer Corfield who has offered to come to shows with me to allow me to keep showing the boys and enjoy my hobby. My grateful thanks to Jen for giving up her free time to help me out! I love this show and it is one of my favourites - always a fabulous entry and atmosphere! This year it was the turn of the babies - Mimi and Macavity (who was shown by his new mums Paulette and Pru) and Moosh who was attending his first adult show. I was very pleased with how the kittens coped purring and posing their way through the day. Huge congratulations also to Zoe Amarilli, Mandy Murphy and Carol Walker fellow Selkirk people who had excellent days with their cats. Eastern Counties Cat Society - 7th August 2010 A lovely day at Wood Green browsing the stalls and shops and visiting the animal centre with good friend Zoe Amarilli. Mister F gained his 3rd Premier Certificate meaning he is now a GCCF Premier! Well done F. Congratulations to Zoe's gorgeous Eneymenymineymo who won her 1st and Best of Breed award.
I took both boys up to the combined Lincolnshire and Humberside shows but they were only in the Lincolnshire show this time. This was a wise decision as the hall got very very hot. Despite this the boys behaved beautifully and did very well! GCCF Gr Pr Amazolou The New Schmoo

IGPC - WALKER'S GR PR AMAZOLOU THE NEW SCHMOO - Selkirk Rex Shorthair 13/04/08 Super muscular male with a long rectangular body of good breadth and depth, standing on medium length solid legs with large firm paws. Medium length tail with rounded tip. Broad round head with good cheeks. Medium sized ears are set well apart and help the Selkirk look. Large round eyes with open expression. Broad nose with fair profile. Fairly well padded muzzle with curly and broken whiskers, level bite and firm chin. His coat is of uniform length throughout, standing out from his body and beautifully prepared. There is plenty of evidence of the rex gene with curls all over the body, even down his back where it can sometimes be lacking. The coat had a good density and a pleasing texture to it. Lovely temperament. When I saw who he was after judging, and think back to the last time I saw him 2 months ago, I am very impressed at the way he has improved - he has more of the Selkirk look now and his stature and power have really improved. Well worthy of this level of award now. SELKIRK REX NEUTER
BOB - WALKER'S GR PR AMAZOLOU THE NEW SCHMOO - Red Tipped Shorthair male PC - WALKER'S AMAZOLOU MISTER FANTASTIC - Red Smoke Longhair male 03/04/07 Well grown male with a balanced rectangular body, good strong medium length legs and firm paws. Broad head with full cheeks. Medium ears are very well set. Eyes could just be a fraction rounder for perfection. Good rounded profile and slant to the nose, bite and firm chin. Lovely semi long coat with good density and texture - it stands out from the body and has a plush feel. Plenty of random unstructured curls and waves across the coat, giving him a very pleasing appearance. Well plumed tail of correct length to balance to his body. Joyce Green:

SOMERSET CAT CLUB SHOW JUNE 5TH 2010 Mandy and I took the two silver brothers, Softee and Santa down to this show in Weston Super Mare - Mandy was hoping for Santa's 3rd PC and I was hoping for Softee's first Grand CC. We had a brilliant day with Santa gaining his 3rd PC and becoming a GCCF Premier and Softee winning the Grand CC, CC and BOB and then going on to be Best British Adult - well done boys and thank you for your lovely company Mandy on such a fab day. BRISTOL AND DISTRICT CAT CLUB - 8th MAY 2010 Another friendly show in the South West - I love these shows - the competition is always very fierce with lovely cats on show. Schmoo and Mister F had a good day today but sadly bowed to superior competition. Schmoo was contesting the Imperial class for the first time and was against four top class British. He was unplaced but received good feedback and had a RED CARD DAY in his sides. Mister F was 2nd out of 3 male neuters and came 2nd in his only side class being beaten by Schmoo this time! TICKED TICA SWANLEY 25th APRIL 2010 Just Softee for this show hoping in my dreams to gain his Champion title before he has a little break to mature. I am truly lucky to have this lad in my cat family. He is so chilled and relaxed and took the long 8 ring show day in his stride even when the hall got really hot! He finished the day with 2 finals gaining his Champion title with TICA. 8 Best of Colour

Another long trek but so worth it! I took Softee and Mister F out to this show - Softee looking for his 3rd CC and Mister F his first PC and was thrilled when they both won their open classes and certificates. Softee is having a break now from GCCF shows to mature before I campaign him for a Grand Champion title and Mister F is taking it easy so I shall mainly be showing Schmoo and Skaramoosh over the summer months. 27th MARCH 2010 I travelled to Stevenage for this show hoping that Softee would have another good day and gain his second CC. I was thrilled when he was not only awarded this by Joyce Higgins but also was placed in all of his large sideclasses. Amazolou Mister Brightside
COVENTRY AND LEICESTER CAT CLUB 27TH FEBRUARY 2010 Today was a very exciting day for me with my silver brothers Schmooey and Softee. Schmooey needed one more Grand Premier certificate for his title and Softee was going to his first adult show at just 9 months and would be in competition in his open class against some of the best Selkirks around. Both boys travelled well and settled well and had a wonderful day. I had to keep pinching myself to check the results were real! Well done boys! He is a good size and weight, muscular and solid with medium length reasonably well boned legs, a correct rectangular body and a good large broad cheeked head. The ears sit correctly and are nice and broad at base. The eyes are open and round. Nose slants downward, a fraction short, bite is level and but his chin just falls away a little. The depth of his head is good and muzzle is well padded when viewed from the side. Lovely doming to his top of head. Curly eyebrows. Super coat, stands away well, is curly down to the roots all over. Ruff is still filling out, excellent tail plumes! Val Anderson's side class on Softee (2nd out of 13) 2nd
SHROPSHIRE CAT CLUB 6TH FEBRUARY 2010 I only took Schmoo along to this show - the hall can be rather spooky but Schmoo really enjoyed himself and spent plenty of time promoting the breed by having cuddles and strokes from the public! He was only entered in the Grand class and no sides but he won his second Grand from Mrs Anne Gregory. Thank you Anne for this prestigious award.

WEST COUNTRY CAT CLUB 16TH JANUARY 2010 I did think I was a bit mad entering 3 cats for this show when I got up at 3.30am to prepare the 3 boys for the show! It was more than worth it and I am incredibly proud of how they all did and coped with a long day. Many thanks to their judges Charis White, Valerie Anderson, Carol Jones, Helen Marriott Power and Mary Le Monnier for making this a day to remember. PR Amazolou The New Schmoo Amazolou Mr Brightside

GPC – WALKER’S PR AMAZOLOU THE NEW SCHMOO – Red Tipped
13/04/08 A strong looking cat with a medium rectangular frame, broad and deep, standing on medium length sturdy legs with firm paws. Medium length tail with rounded tip. Broad head with cheeks developing well. Good rounded profile between medium sized ears – the set looked better when viewing him from the front rather than the back! Lovely big open eyes. Nose just has a slight break but then continues into the correct downward slant. Level bite in square padded muzzle. Firm chin. His coat could be a fraction softer but it is of uniform length and is dense with no sparse areas and it stands out from the body. He still has a slightly less curled area down his centre back but on his chin, chest, tummy and legs there are random loose curls evident. He is a pretty colour and is well shown. 1 & BOB WALKER’S AMAZOLOU MR BRIGHTSIDE 79L43 M 11.5.09 Delightful eight month old kitten with a stunning coat. Round underlying bone structure to broad, round head with a slight curve to the top of the head and full cheeks. Head is set on a short thick neck. Pleasing profile line with a rounded forehead, medium nose break and short, broad nose with a downward slant, just marginally spoilt by a very slight bump spoiling the straight line from break to tip. Medium width to muzzle with well padded whisker pads giving a good rectangular look. Level bite and fair depth, level chin. Ears are set well apart and fit the outer contours of the face, medium in size and broad at base. Large, yellowy-green, round, well open eyes set well apart. Cobby body with a level back, equally broad shoulders and rump giving a rectangular appearance. Well boned, medium length legs and firm rounded paws. Medium length tail is thicker at base and has a rounded tip, plumy curls to fur just slightly straighter down the top of the tail. Black Silver Shaded Longhair Selkirk Rex with a semi longhair coat of super structure, thick and dense standing out from the body with lots of loose individual curls with a soft, plush feel to them. Shorter curls down the legs all the way down to his toes. Longer curls around the neck making a good ruff to frame the face. Lovely temperament. 2 WALKER’S AMAZOLOU SKARAMOOSH 79L20a MN 17.4.09 Almost nine month old boy of excellent size and weight and looking well balanced. Round underlying bone structure to round head with full cheeks and good breadth to gently rounded top of head. In profile rounded forehead which is slightly heavy looking at the brow line so slightly spoiling his expression, rather strong nose break but short, broad straight nose which has a very slight downward slant. Medium width to muzzle with well padded whisker pads and with nice curly whiskers. Level bite and good depth, level chin. Medium sized ears broad at base and set well apart to fit the contours of his face, neat tufts at the tips. Large, green eyes set wide apart with a full shape to the lower line but I would prefer to see more fullness to the top line for a good round shape. Level back to good length body of good rectangular appearance with equally broad chest and rump. Medium boned and length legs with firm, rounded paws. Medium length tail, thicker at base and with a rounded tip and well covered with plumy curls. Blue Tabby Selkirk Rex Longhair with a really full semi-longhair coat which is thick and dense and stands out from his body in loose light curls with a soft, plush feel to them. Full ruff of tight, long curls framing his face. Light curl to long cheek fur. Lovely natured boy.
