2008
Maidstone & Medway Cat Club Show 20th December 2008
We made the long journey down to Kent for this last show of 2008. Mister F proved he is also Mister Consistent by winning his 9th IC in the Open and taking the Best of Breed with Trublu Jetranger in 2nd and Wyrewood Mr Christian in 3rd. Thank you Mrs Anderson!
Both Jet and Mr C got their own back in the sides but Mister F still did amazingly well taking 3 x 1st, 1 x 2nd, 1 x 3rd and 1x 4th! Mister F is due a nice long break now from showing and will be back out in the latter part of 2009.
I must thank Zoe Amarilli for allowing me to be owned by this extra special boy - he is quite simply a star in every way to me.

The Supreme Show 22nd November 2008
Wow - what can I say - it was a marvellous day! The Selkirk Rex Cat Club stall was packed all day long and Anne and Zoe's kittsn, Amber, Ting Tings and Scooter did a marvellous job wowing the crowds. The show itself had a wonderful party atmosphere and to top that off Mister F had his best result ever!
The neuter class was incredibly strong with 4 of the 6 boys being qualifying cats for the championship progression and the other two having gained 3 and 2 ICs respectively!
I was gobsmacked when Mrs Caroline Wren awarded 1st IC & BOB to Mister F! The day got better from there when Mr Welsh placed him in his top 3 out of 21 neuters forward for Best of Variety! What a result! The other selkirks on show also had a fabulous day and I think it is safe to say the breed has now "arrived".
Intermediate Selkirk Male judged by Caroline Wren
1st IC & BOB Amazolou Mister Fantastic
2nd Crinkles Reed
3rd Crinkles Jack Frost
4th Amazolou Rikki Tivvi Tavi
5th Trueblu Jetranger
6th Lelaurier Cloudingover
Poor little Schmooster is going through his teenage stage so quite rightly was placed 4th of 4 kittens in the male kitten class but he has nothing to prove either and just needs time to come back in balance.
Paul Marshall of Cat Planet tooks some lovely photos of the boys in their pens and Zoe took the one below of Mister F & I together with his big rossie!

Rex Cat Club Show 1st November 08
This is one of my favourite shows and was even better this year being in a new venue and the club having their own hall. It was laid out beautifully and the atmosphere was friendly and helpful with a great show management team!
I just took the Amazolou boys to this show. Mister F had been nominated onto the Hall of Fame so was on exhibition only but was entered into two charity classes for Best Coat Quality and Best Type which he won! The Club also gave him a special personalised rosette which is gorgeous and a lovely touch.

In the Kitten Classes the competition was very fierce and Schmoo did well to take 2nd in his Open class out of the 4 males on show losing out to a bigger more physically mature kitten.
He then went on to do brilliantly in his side classes:
Selkirk Rex/La Perm non breeders - Pamela Wilding - 1st of 2
AV Radius - Mrs Heavens - 1st of 1
RCC Club Class - Mrs Kaye - 1st of 5
CRAOV Club Class - Mrs Wilding - 1st of 1
RCA Club Class - Mrs Heavens - 2nd of 3
AV 6-9 Months - Mrs Heavens - 3rd of 4
AV Smoke or Tabby - Mr Hansson - 3rd of 5
AV Intermediate - Mr Hansson - 3rd of 6
including reversing places with the male open winner in the RCC club class.
I am really thrilled with how he did particularly as he is entering that phase all kittens go through where they look a little out of kilter and their coats are not as curly.
Thank you to Zoe Amarilli for letting me have this pair of wonderful boys!
Colourpoint Rex Coated & AOV Cat Club Show 18th October 2008
All 3 boys went out today and we had a marvellous time!
Amazolou The New Schmoo had a great day winning the male kitten Open class and then taking Best of Breed! He ended the day with a RED CARD DAY winning all four side classes and beating his two best buds Quando and Mister F in the club classes!
TICA DGCA Amazolou Mister Fantastic won his 7th IC and the male Open Neuter class but lost out on the BOB to the classy Curlu Coco who had an amazing day herself winning BEST IN SHOW SELKIRK REX. Mister F won 3 x 2nds in his sides and took it all in his stride as usual!
TICA GCA Catbalu Quando made his return to the show bench and came 2nd in the male Open Neuter class and won 3 x 3rds in his sides - he seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself and I might take him out occasionally to some of the smaller shows!

West of England & South Wales Cat Society 23rd August 2008
It was an Amazolou Road Trip to this show with Mister Fantastic going along with Schmoo who was joined by littermate Amazolou Hong Kong Phooey.
All 3 had a great day particularly Schmoo who won BEST OF VARIETY BRITISH KITTEN in a large and competitive section. What a great day for Zoe Amarilli and the Amazolou Cattery!

Amazolou The New Schmoo was being shown by Zoe and had a good day being awarded 2nd in the Kitten Open class by Freda Matthias and gaining 3 x 2nds in very competitive side classes. He gained a number of compliments from the judges and spent the afternoon showing off for the crowd of children who seemed drawn to his pen!

Lovely if very hot day!
Amazolou The New Schmoo attended his first show with his breeder Zoe and won his Open Class and the BOB. He also gained 1 x First and 2 x Thirds in his side classes. Well done Schmooey!

TICA Double Grand Champion Amazolou Mister Fantastic was entered BOB only and was awarded the BOB over the IC winning male Neuter. He also gained 1 x First and 2 x Seconds in strong company in his side classes!
I am so chuffed for "F" as he has now been named as he is really growing into himself now.

"F" looking chuffed with himself with his "Cheshire Cat Grin"!

12th July 2008
Mister F and I drove up to the Lincolnshire today. I was stewarding for Penny in the HP section and we had a wonderful morning with some lovely cats with Overall BIS going to an adorable black tortie girl who looked far younger than her years.
Mister F was entered BOB only and he won the BOB over the IC winner. The aim of this show had been to have a go in the new Petplan Stakes aimed at adolescent British Adults and Neuters between age 9 months and 2 years. I was thrilled that Mister F won this - thank you Mr Hansson!!
He also did very well in his other side classes with 3 Firsts, a Second and a Third. I was thrilled that he was nominated for BOV although he didn't win this, it is exciting just to get the nomination. It did get very hot towards the end of the day and side class judging ran late but even so, he still behaved impeccably and like a true Selkirk. I look forward to next year when the show will be held in the new exhibition hall which will have better ventilation. It was a lovely show, well run and friendly - definitely worth the trip.
Mister F got a nice big bowl of raw steak and is now busy hooning around telling Quando all about his great day!
Mister F in his customary show pose below!

Somerset Cat Club 7th June 2008
I travelled down to Somerset with Anne Minshall to show Mister F and also his father Insider Manfred and half sister Adsetsh Amazolou Willow. Manfred and Willow both gained ICs and did well in their side classes.
Mister F had an excellent day. He was entered for Best of Breed only which he won beating the IC winner and he did very well in his side classes against mature British Shorthair neuters.

Both the boys were on exhibition only at the Suffolk and Norfolk and had a lovely day cuddling all the visitors. Photo below taken by Zoe Amarilli and with Anne Minshall and Insider Constantin

The Spoticat Club 2 day show 3rd and 4th May 2008
Anne Minshall and I took the two boys and her gorgeous dilute tortie and white longhair female Wyrewood Gigi aka Gina to the Spoticat Show in Newbury. This was a 12 ring show spread over two days. All the cats did very well with both Mister F and Gina finishing in the top ten Alters and Kittens respectively!
The boys both gained new titles and a run down of their results are:
TICA Grand Champion Alter Catbalu Quando

12 x Best of Division
12 x Best of Breed
2 x 5th SP Finals making him up to Grand Champion Alter.

The Rex Cat Association Show
12th April 2008
Well after a bit of a break it was back to the show scene with a bang for my troublesome twosome! This time we travelled to a local breed show and took my rescue girl Portia along for the trip - I wasn't sure how she would take to the show scene but apart from being a bit bemused she behaved like a pro and of course had taken tips from the boys and spent the entire show when not performing for the public, curled in her litter tray!

Portia looking right at home in her litter tray like all discerning show cats!
All 3 cats did really well with Mister F winning the Male Neuter Open class and his 4th IC and then going on to win 5 of his side classes and coming second in his other side class. I was very pleased as he won some decent and hotly contested classes including his third Rex Cat Club one - he has now won each of these he has entered!
Quando came second to Mister F in the Open class and then went on to win 2 side classes and come second in the other 3. Very pleased with him as well as he has bounced back from another poorly episode.
and to top it all off Portia came second in her Open class and won 2 side classes including Best Rescue Cat and came second in her other side class - she only did 3 as for her first show I though that would be enough handling for her.
Great day all round topped off by Pam Beard Smith's Mewsos Count Bassie winning BIS Kitten and Zoe's Curlu Coco becoming a qualifying cat by winning her 3rd IC!
Coventry & Leicester Cat Club
23rd February 2008

Not a great show for the boys - both entered BOB only and unfortunately neither winning it. They did however each get placed in all of their side classes and Quandy did well winning his Birthday class!
Croydon Cat Club 9th February 2008
The Boys and I made an early morning trip down to Maidenhead in Berkshire for this show on a mission for Mister F to get his 3rd IC. This he duly won and beat poor old Quandy to Best of Breed again! Mister became the 8th Qualifying cat at just 10 months old and I am very proud of the little man.
