Past Friends

Portia Posh Paws - early 1994 to 17th November 2009

Portia was my 15 year old moggie girl whom I adopted from the Avon Cat Rescue in Welford on Avon Warwickshire in January 2007.  I had had a short break from cats due to losing my 19 year old girl George whom I had owned since she was an 8 week old kitten and who had been my constant companion.

It was always going to be a special cat who filled George's shoes and Portia was certainly that.  She had had a bit of a rough time but when we visited the centre she completely won me over with her huge expressive eyes and enthusiastic purr and head rubs.

She was rather shy and nervy but gradually coming out of her shell and ruled the household with an iron paw.  She became very outgoing and in the last year of her life I moved house to a big semi detached with a garden and Portia loved going outside and surveying her kingdom or just soaking up the sun! 

Unfortunately in November 2009 old age crept up on her and her kidneys failed just a few weeks short of her 16th birthday.  I will never forget this gorgeous girl - the house is very empty without her.
